The 71st meeting of the Science Park Review Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology passed 3 investment projects today, with a total investment of NT$252 million. They are Mingkun Technology Co., Ltd. in the integrated circuit industry, Taihong Science Co., Ltd. in the biotechnology industry, and the newly established Xin'an Acceleration Incubation Center.
The Ministry of Science and Technology pointed out that Taihong Science Co., Ltd. invested 223 million yuan, mainly developing biosimilar drugs, new drug research and development, and biopharmaceutical commissioned development and manufacturing services (CDMO). It will be stationed in the Biomedical Park of Hsinchu Science Park.
The Ministry of Science and Technology pointed out that the global new drug development market is huge, especially in cancer drugs and infectious disease drugs. The biosimilar drug (TS001) invested by Taihong can effectively reduce the common adverse reactions in chemotherapy; TS002), it can be used in conjunction with other cancer drugs. After entering the biomedical park in the future, it can further cooperate with other nearby biomedical manufacturers to expand the capacity of new drug research and development and CDMO services.
According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, Mingkun Technology Co., Ltd. invested 29 million yuan to develop adhesive tapes for semiconductor wafer grinding processes, which will be stationed in the Taichung Park of the Central Science Park.
The Ministry of Science and Technology pointed out that in recent years, due to the vigorous development of consumer electronics products, automotive electronics products, Internet of Things and other industries, the global demand for semiconductors has increased greatly, and at the same time it has driven the demand for semiconductor tapes. Semiconductor tapes are mainly used for crystal back grinding and wafer processing. Cutting, but Taiwan's semiconductor tapes still rely entirely on imports. Mingkun Technology Co., Ltd. invests in independent R&D and manufacturing in Taiwan. In addition to improving the integrity of the semiconductor industry chain, it also provides domestic wafer manufacturers with a second source option.
The Ministry of Science and Technology pointed out that Taisu Innovation Management Consulting Company (Taisu Innovation Company) will enter Hsinchu Science Park Hsinchu Park and operate the "Xin'an Acceleration Incubation Center", which will help the overall industry of the park and enhance its long-term competitiveness.
The Ministry of Science and Technology pointed out that Taisu Innovation Company has established an early investment channel for start-up teams, so that angel investors can evaluate start-up teams, cultivate start-up teams with industrial innovation and development potential, and become a springboard mechanism for entering the park. In addition, it also cooperates closely with non-government and academic research units to systematically cultivate new innovations with international development potential.
According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, there is also 1 case of head office entering the district, 7 cases of product and business projects, and 3 cases of capital increase, with a total capital increase of 1.035 billion yuan.
